The Nansemond Indian Nation is submitting an amendment to its ICDBG-ARP project timeline for the Mattanock Town Lodge Expansion and
Upgrade project to reflect the need for additional time due to delays in project implementation. The timeline has been impacted by the development and adoption of updated procurement regulations and ongoing negotiations with the City of Suffolk regarding title and permitting at Mattanock Town. We invite Nansemond Indian Nation Tribal Citizens to join an informational meeting on Friday, October 21, at 7:00 PM ET, to submit your public comment regarding our proposed 2022 Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) application. The 2022 ICDBG has total funding of $92.3M from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Office of Native American Programs (ONAP), with a maximum funding amount of $2.0M per Tribe. The ICDBG program can provide funding for recipients in the following categories: Housing, Community Facilities, Public Services, and Economic Development. We plan to apply for approximately $1.0M in the Community Facilities category to improve and develop the trails, parking, boat launch, and other facilities at Mattanock Town.
